Position:

Subsea Project / Controls Engineer (Contract):

Subcontracted to ConocoPhillips as the Subsea Project & Controls Engineer for the Brodgar In-fill Project.  This project was an extension to the Brodgar field however; variations from existing installed subsea trees at Brodgar require a keen eye for detail to ensure that all interfaces are correct.

Working for an Oil and Gas Operator as a Project Engineer, the duties normally associated with a Project Manager for Manufacturing and Facilities / Service Companies are naturally incorporated within my main duties.

Interfacing with subsea vendors, reviewing designs, procedures and witnessing FAT’s / SIT’s all fell within my scope.

Duties included, but not limited to:

  • Invitation To Tender (ITT)

  • Scope Of Work (SOW)

As the Brodgar project moved into the installation phase, my skillset from my previous employment became useful where I reviewed dive and installation procedures in detail for the subsea Brodgar tie-in.  I also carried out detail reviews of commissioning procedures.

In addition, I am utilised in an advisory role on other projects when needed and to provide operational support to subsea and topside assets.  Operational support included undertaking an Engineering / Technical Client Representative on Dive Support Vessels (DSVs) in the Southern and Central North Sea (SNS & CNS).
