Vessel Mobilisation & Project Engineer (Contract)
Working as the Vessel Mobilisation Engineer for the Maersk Lancer and oversea sub-supplier design and testing of the Cone Penetrating Tool (CPT) ROV Launch and Recovery System Tower (see images). Initially a 3 week tempory position to cover holidays, this contract extended to 3 months to complete the full scope of work.
Particular challenge on this assignment was the need to remove a section of the Maersk Lancer bulwarks in order to allow for LARS to be extended overboard. In addition, design of Grillages to interface between equipment and deck structural members.
Oversea team of 15 welders and electricians on a 12hr shift for the installation and testing of the LARS and other installed campaign equipment, .i.e. Seafastenings, Grillages, Containers, Power Units, Deck Sheaves, Winches.
