Position:

Senior Project Engineer (Staff)

 

Responsible for the design, procurement and fabrication of Wellhead Process, Chemical Injection, Hydraulic Power Units, Topside Umbilical Termination Units, Single and Multiple Wellhead Control Panels, Remote Telemetry and Subsea Control Systems for the oil and gas industry with individual project values up to £1.5 million, duties as follows:

 

Liaison with the client in terms of preparing tenders, scoping engineering process details and suggesting technical solutions to meet their requirements.

 

Managing the initial design in close collaboration with design engineers; agreeing system layouts and space restrictions in line with the process schematics and technical specifications.

 

Dealing with suppliers and collating price quotations for each item required, which could not be fabricated in-house, carrying out price negotiations to ensure best price and delivery.

 

Project management of the fabrication stage requiring supervision and coordination of fitters and technicians; ensuring that the unit meets the client’s requirements in terms of quality.

 

Carrying out troubleshooting and resolving and technical queries; developing test procedures, commissioning plans and O&M manuals for handing over to the customer.

 

Collation of all project documentation, invoices and manpower costs; ensuring that the final invoice includes all items and that any requested variations are reflected in the final BOQ.

 

Responsible for mentoring junior engineers on their own projects and ensuring they kept within budget, followed procurement procedures and were able to keep to planned schedules.

 

Developed an innovative mechanical / hydraulic design solution for sub-sea diverless intervention stablate; successfully engineered an automated shear system which was used by the client (see photos).
